Additions to the South Star Roofing Privacy & Security Policy
Three things. The first is the main one; the other two are small edits to text you already have, and both matter to a carrier reviewer.
- Text Message (SMS) Notifications
South Star Roofing operates an internal text message notification program for our own employees and crew members. This section describes how mobile information is collected and used for that program. It applies only to employees. We do not send text messages to customers, homeowners, or prospects.
13.1 Who Is Enrolled
Only active South Star Roofing employees and crew members who have been issued a login to Starstruct, the work management system we operate, and who have individually switched on SMS notifications in their own account settings.
There is no public sign-up for these messages. We do not purchase, rent, or import mobile numbers from any third party.
13.2 How Consent Is Given
SMS notifications are off by default for every employee and every notification type. Nothing is pre-checked or pre-filled.
An employee enters their own mobile number on their own profile, opens Settings › Notifications, and switches on each notification type they wish to receive. Switching a type on is the act of consent. No number is entered on an employee’s behalf, and an administrator cannot enable SMS for another employee.
The full consent process, including screenshots of the screen where it happens, is documented at: southstarroofing.com/sms-notifications
13.3 What We Send
Operational alerts about assigned work:
A new job lead entered into the system A new message posted by a colleague on a job Photos uploaded to a job
We do not send marketing or promotional text messages on this program.
13.4 Message Frequency
Frequency varies with each employee’s own job activity and with which notification types they have switched on. There is no scheduled or bulk send.
13.5 Cost
Message and data rates may apply under the employee’s own mobile plan. South Star Roofing does not charge employees for these messages.
13.6 How to Stop Receiving Messages
Reply STOP to any message. All further texts stop immediately. Or switch the SMS toggles off in Settings › Notifications, individually or all at once. Reply START to resume, or switch the toggles back on. Reply HELP for help.
13.7 Sharing of Mobile Information
We do not sell, rent, or share employee mobile numbers or SMS consent with any third party. No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Mobile numbers are transmitted only to our messaging carrier, for the sole purpose of delivering the notifications described in this section. Numbers are removed when an employee leaves the company.
